Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: A shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • On Call Requirements: 2 times per week and 2 weekends per month
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Skills Required:
    • General Ultrasound
    • Biopsy experience
  • Machine Experience: GE Logiq

Required Qualifications

  • Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Registered ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Registered ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)

Additional Requirements

  • Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly
  • Start date on job is the start date needed

Compliance & Documentation

Candidates must provide and maintain the following, with annual updates as applicable:

  • Government-issued photo ID (unexpired)
  • Background checks including national and county searches, sex offender registry, and others as specified
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certified
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified
    • Other certifications as applicable to profession and state
  • Health documents:
    • Annual physical exam with clearance to work
    • Fit mask test (completed onsite)
    • Immunizations and titers including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON blood test within one year)
    • Drug testing within 30 days of start (specific panel required)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Competency exams relevant to specialty and profession, renewed annually
  • References: Two professional references within one year of start date (one must be a supervisor)
  • Work history verification covering 7 years, preferably through a third-party vendor

Notes

  • Ratios and call requirements may fluctuate based on census and other factors
  • Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time

This position is ideal for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with strong skills in general ultrasound and biopsy procedures, comfortable with on-call duties and working with GE Logiq equipment.
