Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (Pediatrics) - Travel/Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Pediatrics for a travel/contract position. The role requires floating to different units as needed and includes supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Pediatrics
- Experience in supervisory roles
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NBRC credential
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including a 7-year county search and education verification.
- International background check if applicable.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
- Identification:
- Current government-issued photo ID required within 24-48 hours of contract signing. Temporary IDs or paper driver's licenses are not acceptable.
- Address on driver's license must match the address on the RRT license.
- Education Verification: Must verify highest degree through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
- License Verification: Must verify Ohio State RRT license within 30 days of start. License location must match photo ID location or proof of residency is required.
- Drug Screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start, including tests for amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, marijuana, methadone, phencyclidine, and fentanyl.
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency standard).
- Immunizations and titers including Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), TB testing (PPD or IGRA), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (declination or proof of vaccination/titer accepted).
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is on file.
- N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NBRC credential required for RRTs
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and other applicable competency exams with passing scores required.
- Additional Documents:
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Affiliating Health Record completed by Quality Management.
- Various state-specific registry and offender searches required within 30 days of start.
Additional Notes
- Candidates with Ohio driver's licenses must have an address more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered non-local.
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing the contract.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Floating to different units is a mandatory part of the role.
