Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Setting: Outpatient Urgent Care
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week, with one shift per pay period on 8-hour schedule
- On-Call: Yes, required as needed
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with management
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- License: Active Illinois state license required (pending licenses not accepted)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist or X-Ray Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
Background Checks & Compliance
- Comprehensive background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- State-specific searches including Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, and Violent Offender registries within 30 days prior to start
- Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting required within Illinois 3 business days prior to start (cannot be done out of state)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or documented immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by November 30th
Additional Requirements
- Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
- Professional references: 2 required for travel, allied, per diem, and acute care candidates
- Badge photo required within one week of contract signing
- Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct and parking permit forms
Notes
- Guaranteed hours may be adjusted with client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty
- Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility policies and documentation requirements prior to start
This position is suitable for X-Ray Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, holding an active Illinois license, and comfortable with on-call duties in an acute care outpatient urgent care setting. First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply.
