Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Medical Surgical RN
• Unit: Inpatient
• Schedule: 4 days per week, 8-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Labor and Delivery, and Oncology settings
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion checks within 90 days
• Education verification or official transcripts/diploma with graduation date
• Washington State mandated WATCH clearance within 90 days prior to start
• Two professional references within 3 years
• Annual skills checklist

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (can be completed onsite if necessary)
• Immunizations or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot within 12 months; PPD not accepted) and annual TB questionnaire
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers or completed series (MMR declination form available)
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination/declination
  • Varicella titer or completed series
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination form (mask required if declined)
  • COVID initial vaccine series or declination
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year, including marijuana

Additional Documentation

• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• State license primary source verification (NURSYS)
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exam required

Notes

• Driver’s license required only for Hospice RNs; government-issued photo ID required for all other candidates
• Must review and sign unit-specific job description prior to start
