Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Varies anytime between 7 AM - 5 PM
  • Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Cardiac-focused department)
  • Work Setting:
    • Rotation through 4 SPECT locations and 1 Cardiac PET department
    • Average daily case load: ~10 cases per site
    • Use of Epic, Spectrum Dynamics, NucTrac/Syntrac, Syngo Dynamics systems
  • Schedule:
    • Every other weekend required
    • Occasional weekend day call (Saturday, Sunday, Holidays 7 AM - 5 PM)
    • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Holiday Work:
    • Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length

Required Qualifications

  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
  • Recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT R (Radiography) or ARRT N (Nuclear Medicine) certification

Additional Requirements

  • Background Checks: Comprehensive background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 12 months of start
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • Required immunizations or titers: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (highly recommended)
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
    • Flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season
  • Competency Exams: May include medication test, color blindness test, and other specialty-specific competency exams
  • References: Two clinical references required
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated within the last 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

Notes

  • Rotation through multiple cardiac imaging locations is required
  • Weekend and holiday coverage is expected as part of the assignment
  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position
