Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dayton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule Requirements:

  • Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday.

Job Description

Seeking an inpatient Dialysis RN for a 13-week travel contract. The role involves floating as needed within medically appropriate assignments, potentially across multiple nearby campuses within a 15-mile radius.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of dialysis experience, including dialysis experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency

Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for all RNs except Labor & Delivery.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - Must be passed within 1 year of start or completed shortly after contract signing.
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - Required within 2 years of start.
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification, PALS, TNCC) but not specifically required for this role.

Background & Health Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, national and county checks, and sex offender registry.
  • Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date, including marijuana panel.
  • Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for duty and free of communicable diseases.
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • TB (negative test or chest x-ray and questionnaire if previously positive)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or vaccination)
    • Varicella (titer or vaccination)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series, immune titer, or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year of start, renewed annually.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Current resume/application required.
  • Two professional references within the last 2 years (one must be a manager, supervisor, or charge RN).
  • Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date.
  • Employment verification or work history verification if references are unavailable.
  • Various accounting and compliance documents including government-issued photo ID and I-9 verification.

Additional Notes

  • The employer reserves the right to cancel shifts or the contract with two weeks' notice without penalty.
  • Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives.
  • Request for time off (RTO) must be submitted with initial application; no RTO added after offer.
  • Floating assignments may include multiple nearby campuses within a 15-mile radius.

This position does not require prior travel experience.
