Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist
Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Radiation Therapist with expertise in radiation oncology treatments. This role involves working with adult and geriatric patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The position requires limited call and no floating. Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather are expected.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 5 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
- Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Proficiency in CBCT/kV/mV Imaging
- Proficiency in use of wedges and beam modifiers
- CT Simulation (pre-treatment) experience
- Specialty treatment experience including:
- Respiratory gating/breath hold for left breast
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
Certifications & Licenses
- No state license required for this position
- Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists)
- Preferred:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
Physical Demands
- Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
- Ability to work full shifts, take call, work weekends, and at least 50% of holidays during the contract
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check (7 years) required within 60 days of start
- Drug screening (7 panel) required within 60 days of start
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- Professional references (2 within last 2 years)
- Resume with 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days
- Photo for badge (new candidates only)
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to work at assigned location for full contract duration
- Ability to work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call as required
