Job Summary

• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Shift: Nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return to Work Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
• Must be comfortable working with both adults and children in ICU settings
• Must be comfortable working with pediatric and adult patients
• Only 4 days allowed off (RTO) and no holidays off

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Experience working with adult patients

Work Environment & Expectations

• Nights, weekends, and holidays required
• Floating between units as needed
• Callouts require makeup shifts as deemed necessary by the department
• Strict attendance and call-off policies
• Professional appearance and adherence to facility policies required
• Must complete facility-specific documents and training modules prior to start

Additional Notes

• Candidates must provide a professional passport-style photo for badge issuance
• Multiple facility-specific forms and acknowledgments must be completed before starting
• Orientation typically occurs on Monday and may last most of the day
• Candidates must be prepared to work in a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs comfortable with pediatric and adult ICU care, night shifts, and flexible floating assignments in a high-acuity hospital setting.
