Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - PICU
Location

Work Schedule
- Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within scope to CCU, Flex Unit, SDU, Pediatrics, PICU, PCU, FBS
Patient Population & Setting
- Acute Care Hospital environment
- Patient Diagnoses: Respiratory therapy, Level 2 ER/PICU/NICU trauma, CCU, floor therapy, high acuity population
- Special equipment used: Servo U-V60, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Documentation system: Cerner
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required

Licensure
- Must have an active Alaska state license prior to starting
- Compact license accepted at time of submission but must convert to Alaska license before start
Additional Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
- Competency Exam required
- Physical exam required and must be renewed annually
- Fit mask test required within 1 year prior to start (must be completed before arrival)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or PPD) within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray within 5 years required
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- COVID-19 vaccine required (initial series or J&J dose plus seasonal/bi-valent booster); medical exemptions accepted with doctor’s letter; declinations and religious exemptions NOT accepted
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical exemption with verifiable diagnosis required annually (declinations not accepted)
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Clinical skills checklist required
Work Environment & Other Details
- Patient ratio: 1:4
- No on-call required
- Locals within 50 miles radius not accepted
- Guaranteed hours: up to 36 hours per week
- Scrub color: any color or pattern (L&D/OR provided)

Facility Specific Onboarding & Compliance
- Completion of pre-boarding and non-employee onboarding tasks required prior to start
- Various facility-specific forms and agreements must be signed before starting
- Mandatory HealthStream training modules assigned during orientation
- Background checks including SS trace, county searches, and sex offender search required
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required for allied health positions
- Fingerprinting not required for this facility
- Photo for badge highly preferred but not mandatory
