Medical Social Worker - Travel/Contract
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift Options:
- Evening 5x8 hours (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
- Evening 4x10 hours (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM)
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Flexibility required for hours and weekend work as needed
- Must be willing to float and travel within a 35-mile radius to multiple locations with advanced notice
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial comprehensive behavioral health assessments including clinical interviews and collateral contacts
- Formulate diagnoses and treatment recommendations
- Engage clients in safety and crisis planning
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
- Assess eligibility for services, medical necessity, and treatment preferences
- Develop treatment plans incorporating client strengths, preferences, and behaviorally based goals
- Make referrals and coordinate care according to program standards
Required Qualifications
- Valid Social Worker license in Massachusetts (including LMFT, LCSW/LICSW, LMHC, or equivalent)
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
- Experience within the last year in social services or behavioral health
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel/transport to multiple locations within a 35-mile radius
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and float between locations
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal search, and education verification
- Statewide Massachusetts iCORI clearance within 30 days prior to start
- Education Verification: Third-party verification of highest completed education or transcript with graduation date
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Drug Testing: Within 30 days of start, including standard drug panels
- Immunizations and Declinations (as applicable):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or Declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or declination form
- TB Testing: Two PPDs or equivalent within required timeframes; chest X-ray if positive TB history; TB questionnaire required
- References: Two references within three years of start
- Employment Application: Must document 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually as applicable
Additional Notes
- Preference given to candidates with no Return to Office (RTO) days, but up to 5 days of RTO allowed
- Advanced notice will be provided for daily assignment locations
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or completion of equivalent on-site training may be required
