Shift Details
- Night shift, 18:30 to 07:00 (3 shifts per week, 36 hours total)
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and other future holidays during the contract
- No on-call requirements
Unit and Patient Population
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with telemetry monitoring skills required
- Comfortable working with gender affirmation surgery patients (experience preferred but not required)
- May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
Staffing Ratio
- Nurse to patient ratio approximately 1:5 or 1:6
Skills and Requirements
- Telemetry monitoring skills mandatory
- Cerner electronic health record experience preferred
- Must be willing and able to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Scrubs not provided; navy blue color required
Health and Safety Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for flu season (Sept 23 - Mar 31)
Background and Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification of highest degree required by position
- Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Drug screen and background check attestations required
Additional Information
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Photo for badge must meet specified criteria (clear, centered, no filters, solid background)
- Must comply with all facility policies and annual requirements (e.g., safety manual acknowledgment)
- Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function
This position offers an opportunity to work in a telemetry unit with a supportive environment for diverse patient populations, including gender affirmation surgery patients. The role requires strong telemetry skills, adherence to strict certification and health requirements, and flexibility to float within similar acuity units.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

I do not have anything negative other than you need to fight with sone to all9w you gain some admission, emergency and critical patient stabilisation experience since they invade such patients which may leave you hanging while the resuscitation happens.
