MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Riverview, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Daily Caseload: 15-20 MRI scans per tech
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
Total Staffed Beds: 223
Work Settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Children's Hospital, Adult ICU
Weekend work required
On-call required (details to be discussed with manager)
Floating within or to sister facilities is not required or allowed
Block scheduling is not accommodated
Local candidates are not accepted
Pending state license is not accepted

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
Experience in an outpatient setting
Experience with Siemens MRI equipment (Siemens Espree 1.5T) required
Skills required:
- Phlebotomy
- Contrast administration
- Biopsy procedures
- Imaging patients with pacemakers/defibrillators, including cardiac imaging
Experience working with patients diagnosed with TIA, osteomyelitis, MS back pain, trauma, cellulitis, and other general cases
Cerner EMR experience required

Required Certifications & Licenses

Current, valid MRI Tech license/certification (ARRT or ARMRIT) with advanced MR certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Driver’s License must be current and active throughout assignment
Background checks required within 1 year, including:
- SS Trace
- County searches
- Nationwide checks
- Sex offender registry
- Education verification
Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
Education verification required for all candidates
Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide
Physical exam within 6 months of start date
Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire required if prior positive PPD
Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination with mask requirement during flu season
Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required
Photo for badge required prior to start (clear, professional, solid background)
Completion of facility-specific dress code and tobacco policy acknowledgment
Completion of required online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
Two professional references from the past 2 years required
Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and approved

Additional Notes

Candidates must be prepared to work weekends, evenings, and on-call holidays
Stroke education CEUs and other specialty-specific competencies may be required depending on unit assignment (verify during credentialing)
Medication, pharmacology, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams may be required as applicable
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training is not required for this role
Candidates will not float outside their scope of practice or to other facilities
