Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
• Monday through Friday with rotating day off
• Call required

Preferred Experience

• Experience with DaVinci robotic surgery systems
• Experience in endovascular procedures and ophthalmology is a bonus

Licensing & Certifications (Required as applicable)

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance & Background Requirements

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Verification of highest level of education required
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation & Verification

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID required
• E-Verify and other federal background checks required upon hire
• Education verification and work history verification for the past 7 years
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• Photo for badge identification required

Geographic Restriction

• Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Urology experience
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Summary

This travel Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with specific clinical experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neurology, Vascular, and Urology. The role involves day shifts with call responsibilities and requires proficiency in Epic charting. Candidates must meet comprehensive licensing, certification, immunization, and background check requirements. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
