Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
- Monday through Friday with rotating day off
- Call required
Preferred Experience
- Experience with DaVinci robotic surgery systems
- Experience in endovascular procedures and ophthalmology is a bonus
Licensing & Certifications (Required as applicable)
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Compliance & Background Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Verification of highest level of education required
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Documentation & Verification
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID required
- E-Verify and other federal background checks required upon hire
- Education verification and work history verification for the past 7 years
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Photo for badge identification required
Geographic Restriction
- Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
- Urology experience
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
