Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Work on a mixed acuity PCU and MS unit specializing in oncology and bone marrow transplant (BMT).
- Patient population includes diagnoses such as:
- Acute and Chronic Leukemias (ALL, AML, CLL, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia)
- Amyloidosis, Aplastic Anemia
- Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
- Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Myeloproliferative Disorders
- Special procedures include:
- Autologous, Syngeneic, and Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplants
- CAR-T Therapy
- Shift assignments may rotate between days and nights depending on department needs, reviewed every 4 weeks but not guaranteed.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience within the last year.
- Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
- Experience with central line blood draws.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
