ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Cartersville, Georgia


Position Details

  • Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
  • Location: Cartersville, Georgia
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36 hours
  • Contract Length: 12 weeks

Work Schedule & Expectations

  • Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
  • No on-call required
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Holiday Work:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing required to start on time
  • Orientation hours are non-billable and proportional to contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others as specified
  • Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
  • Facility-specific online course for Electronic Fetal Monitoring required within a few months of hire (if applicable)

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted for this unit
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Manager review of candidate profile and schedule fit occurs within 48 hours after confirmation
  • Maximum response time for credentialing (RTO) is 7 days
  • If compliance is not met in time, start date may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
