Registered Nurse – PCU (Columbus, Ohio)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (higher experience not specified).
- Strong Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) background required.
- Experience with transplant (renal, liver), renal, or high-acuity medical patients preferred.
- Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC), IV insulin protocols and insulin drips, cardiac and vasoactive drips including titration, central line and PICC management, blood product administration, renal and liver transplant care, and post-procedure recovery (kidney biopsy, paracentesis).
- Must be able to float within the organization and provide call coverage.
- Weekend coverage required every other or every third weekend.
- Use of EPIC charting system and Pyxis medication system.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
