Hospice Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (5x8 hours), 16:30 - 8:00
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

Work schedule: 7 on/7 off rotation, Monday-Thursday and Friday-Monday nights
Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
Average daily census: 100 patients
Patient ratio: 1:10
Average visits per day: 6
Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff, medical director, and office staff
Must be organized and able to work independently
Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
Call and weekend work required
Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Return to office (RTO) maximum 7 days
Facility uses Homecare Homebase (HCHB) system until 10/1/2026, then Epic; HCHB experience required or must complete paid online training before start

Contract Length

12 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of hospice nursing experience, including hospice experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and Epic electronic health record systems

Scrub color: Any
Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length
Must review and sign facility’s code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start
Clear, passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
Valid automobile liability insurance proof required if applicable
Must comply fully with all onboarding requirements to avoid start delays

This position is ideal for experienced hospice RNs comfortable with night shifts, independent work, and working in a home health/hospice setting with adult and geriatric patients. Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but first-time travelers are not accepted.
