Dialysis Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Decatur, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Four 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) plus 2 out of 3 overnight on-call shifts
• On-Call: Yes, every third Saturday on call until Monday 7:00 AM; 1-hour response time for emergent cases only
• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
• Average Daily Census: 3-6 patients in a 2-room, 4-bed unit
• Float: No floating outside scope of practice
• Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
• Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
• Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in an inpatient setting

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Level II Trauma Center
• 372 staffed beds
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color provided
• Parking permit required, no cost

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health, ability to perform job functions without restrictions
• Fit mask test required (3M 1860, 1870 series or equivalent) unless PAPR needed
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) or signed declinations
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and state-specific offender registries within 30 days of start
• Illinois Department of Corrections and Most Wanted searches required within 30 days of start
• Fingerprinting and Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry results required for clinical candidates without an IL license, completed in Illinois only

Documentation & Onboarding

• Valid US Driver’s License or State ID
• Education verification (degree/transcript) required
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Badge photo required before start
• Code of Conduct acknowledgment within 7 days of contract signing
• Parking permit form to be completed within 7 days of contract signing

Additional Notes

• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Return-to-office restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
• Candidate must be prepared for emergent on-call situations with a 1-hour response time
• No floating outside dialysis specialty scope
