Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: Night, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 48
• Schedule Options:

  • Alternating 3x12 and 4x12 shifts every other week, or
  • Straight 4x12 shifts
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (1:4 if cardiac drip)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Call Requirement: No
• Float: Yes
• Holiday Requirement: At least 2 of 3 holidays

Unit Description

• General Medical-Surgical patients including:

  • Diabetes
  • Renal insufficiency
  • Some overnight orthopedic cases
  • Vascular insufficiency
  • Wound care patients
  • Backup support for Stroke Unit
• Special equipment used: Alaris Pumps, Vital Sync Monitors
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Licensure & Documentation

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required, verification within 30 days of start
• Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation required
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start (not required by facility but required by placement agency)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per current guidelines (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with medical/religious exemptions accepted
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date)

Appearance & Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy blue or combination with white

Additional Notes

• Return to Office (RTO) time off less than 5 days or added to end of contract
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced MS/Telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts, telemetry monitoring, and managing complex medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced environment.
