Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Auburn, NY

Job Details

• Location: Auburn, New York
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift Options:

  • 4x10-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
  • 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Floating: Required as per facility needs
• Call Requirements:

  • Call is required with 11-14 days of weekday and rotating weekend call
  • Minimum response time: less than 30 minutes
  • 24-hour rotating holiday call
  • Typical call volume: approximately 14 callbacks since unit opening
• Weekend Requirement: Per facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• Experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
• Experience with Diagnostic and Interventional Catheterizations in adults
• Proficient in Left Heart Catheterization
• Skilled in Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Competent in Procedural Sedation Administration and Monitoring
• Current certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Comprehensive background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start
• Identification: Unexpired government-issued photo ID required
• Health Requirements:

  • Full physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by licensed provider
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
  • Immunizations and titers:

    • TDAP vaccine within last 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity verification
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination history
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine records or declination
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Facility-Specific Documents:

  • Code of Conduct, Patient Abuse Reporting, Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
  • Orientation Packet completion and acknowledgments
  • Automated Dispensing Cabinet Security training for Pyxis access
  • Annual Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire
• Competency Testing:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Telemetry assessment on first day of orientation (minimum 80% score required) covering cardiac rhythm interpretation, arrhythmia identification, and clinical interventions
  • Remediation provided if initial assessment is not passed
• References: Two professional references within last 3 years

Additional Notes

• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts off per 13-week assignment
• No nursing license issues allowed (automatic disqualification)
• If candidate does not yet have NY license, submission is allowed if application date is provided
• Local candidates (within 50 miles) considered for local rate (rate details not included here)

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with strong procedural and cardiac monitoring skills, comfortable with call responsibilities and working in a dynamic cardiac catheterization environment.
