Registered Nurse (ED) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Dededo, Guam

Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Primarily one shift (day or night), no shift preference allowed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, flexibility required
- Holiday Requirement: Must work holidays as scheduled, no holiday preference
- Return to Office (RTO): No more than 3 consecutive days and max 7 days total during the 13-week contract
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours with up to 3 shifts cancellable by client during assignment
- Locals: Candidates residing in Guam are not eligible
- Pending License: Not accepted; must have Compact or Guam RN license at time of application
- Travel: Flights are not reimbursed; candidates should plan accordingly and not book return flights until contract completion
- Overtime: At management discretion, not guaranteed
- Additional: Candidates should be prepared to pick up additional shifts as needed

- Mandatory:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider card required (no instructor cards)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider card required
- Conscious Sedation (per HR)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Advanced NRP required, must be fully completed before start date
- Notes:
- Certifications expiring within 6 months of start must be renewed prior to assignment (renewal can be done onsite)
- Facility provides conscious sedation and ESI pediatric training reimbursement
- Facility-specific training modules (see below) are mandatory
Facility-Specific Training & Requirements
- Mandatory Modules for RNs:
- Pressure Injury Training (NPIAP)
- NIH Stroke Scale Training (NIHSS)
- Alaris IV Pumps (BD Alaris System v12.x)
- Pyxis CareFusion Medication System
- FEMA modules (completed onsite)
- Testing:
- Pass/Fail drug calculation and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) onsite during orientation
- Two attempts allowed; 80% passing score required
- Other:
- Candidates must complete facility-specific nursing modules (8-12 hours) by compliance deadline
- Must upload certificates of completion for each module
- Candidates should plan to arrive at least one day before start due to long travel times and time zone differences
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year (facility does not require but Aya recommends)
- Fit Mask Test: Within 1 year, must use approved masks (3M 1860/1860s, 1804/1804s, 1870+); onsite fit testing available if needed
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 5 years plus annual TB questionnaire
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or vaccination (2 doses MMR)
- Hepatitis B: Immune titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines or history of chickenpox
- Flu Vaccine: Mandatory during flu season (Sept 1 - June 30); medical exemptions considered with facility form
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Strongly preferred full vaccination; medical or declination exemptions require facility-specific forms and approval
- Drug Testing: Instant 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; not required annually unless gap >30 days between assignments
Background & Verification
- Background Check:
- 7-year search including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender registry
- International background checks if candidate lived/worked outside U.S.
- No pending background checks allowed at start
- Work History: Verification of last 10 years required; attestations accepted if verification unavailable
- References:
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, per diem acute care
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
Additional Information
- Scrub Color: Navy blue preferred; any solid color acceptable; jackets of any color allowed
- Charting System: Allscripts/Sunrise
- Parking: Free with registration and decal from HR
- Travelers: Cannot request shift preferences but have a 4-day window to switch or find coverage before schedule finalization
Summary
