Required Qualifications

Valid California RN License
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
Every other weekend availability required

Experience

Background and Screening Requirements

7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
Employment verification covering up to 7 years with no gaps over 30 days; full 7 years of work history required on application

Health and Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30), or signed declination
Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)

Competency and Skills

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
ICU RNs at some locations may be required to take EKG exam onsite after start

Facility Specific Requirements

Candidate must review and sign facility policies and job description prior to start, including:
- Standards of Business Conduct
- Code of Conduct
- Vendor Training (2024 and 2025 versions depending on contract date)
- Overpayment Refund Policy
- General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
- TB Questionnaire (signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days)
- Request for Religious Accommodation Form (if applicable)
- Epic Questionnaire (RN only, required for new candidates starting 11/3/2025 and onward)

Additional Notes

Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training may be required; can be completed onsite during orientation week
NIH Stroke Certification may be required; verify by position

This position requires a California-licensed ICU Registered Nurse with current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, available for a 13-week travel contract with every other weekend shifts. Comprehensive background checks, immunizations, and competency verifications are mandatory prior to start.
