Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Job Summary
Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with experience in circulating C-sections. This is a travel contract position requiring 36 hours per week with alternating every other week (EOW/EOH) shifts.
Required Qualifications
License:
- Registered Nurse license required.
- Massachusetts license not required at time of submission but must be prioritized immediately upon offer.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience strongly preferred.
- Candidates with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they have prior travel experience.
- Must be able to circulate C-sections.
Certifications:
- AWHONN Intermediate or above (required for Labor & Delivery).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
Skills:
- Previous EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
Prior Travel Experience:
- Preferred if candidate has prior travel experience (2+ years experience with travel considered).
Shift Details
- 36 hours per week
- Every Other Week / Every Other Holiday schedule
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (time sensitive, updated annually).
- 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county, national, and federal searches. Annual update required for direct candidates.
- Education verification of highest completed education (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable).
- Required health documents including:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start with physician statement of fitness.
- Immunizations or declinations for TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Flu, COVID-19, and others as applicable.
- Negative TB or chest X-ray documentation.
- Drug testing within 30 days of start.
- Required competency exams including medication and telemetry exams (minimum 80% passing score on first day of orientation).
- References: 2 within three years of start.
- Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must pass required medication and telemetry exams on the first day of orientation to avoid cancellation.
- Declinations for certain vaccines may not be accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, or NICU units.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required on site depending on specialty.
- COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination required.
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who are comfortable with C-section circulation and have strong certification credentials, including AWHONN Intermediate or higher. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory if experience exceeds 3 years.
