Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Escondido, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description

• Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts, Days
• Minimum Experience: 3 years of directly related RN experience (higher value taken from 2-3 years stated)
• Specialty Experience: Must have inpatient Case Management experience
• Role: Seeking a seasoned Case Manager capable of handling a full workload

Licenses & Certifications Required

• Current California RN License
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association recognized, Healthcare Provider level

Preferred/Additional Certifications (if applicable to unit)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA only
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ER
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - for L&D RNs within 2 years
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - if applicable

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience (direct patient care)
• Inpatient Case Management experience required
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 verification
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID with address
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS, OIG/GSA, EPLS/SAM, HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
• NURSYS license verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD/DO/PA/NP, confirming good health and free of communicable diseases
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (renewal requirements vary by contract type)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers required; declinations accepted where noted)
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start
• Flu vaccination or declination form required annually (for flu season Oct 31 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination preferred; declination form if unvaccinated
• References: 2 references within 3 years from manager, supervisor, or charge RN
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)

Training & Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% pass rate)
• Unit Specialty Competency Exam (80% pass rate)
• Core Parts I, II, III exams (80% pass rate, updated annually)
• Pass/Fail arrhythmia exam for applicable units prior to start
• Online orientation and position/unit-specific training modules assigned via LMS platform

Additional Notes

• Badge photo required prior to start (white background, headshot with shoulders, no selfies)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required only for Psych/Behavioral Health and ER positions (not specified for this role)
• Must carry copies of certifications at all times if applicable
