Physical Therapist - Travel/Contract Position

Job Description

• Evaluate and treat various physical therapy patients per physician’s referral or direct access
• Establish and supervise physical therapy assistants following a PT plan of care
• Evaluate and treat injured workers; understand ACOMP systems for safe Return to Work plans
• Utilize modalities and exercise equipment available in the facility
• Perform post-offer testing such as WorkSTEPS or APET
• Conduct Work Hardening Evaluations or Functional Capacity Evaluations
• Perform ergonomic evaluations or job analysis
• Supervise cleaning or organizational tasks, directing PT technicians
• Handle scheduling, patient visits, and referrals as needed
• Utilize billing codes appropriately for various payer types
• Update rehab nurses weekly on patient progress
• Maintain communication with referring physicians through timely evaluation and progress notes
• Maintain all licensure requirements for the state of employment (license must be in good standing)
• Maintain professional attitude with patients, doctors, case managers, insurance reps, and other contacts
• Assist marketing team with business development and relationship building with referral sources
• Participate in community events representing the facility
• Willingness to perform additional tasks as needed

• 13 weeks

Required Experience

Required Certifications and Documents

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (updated annually)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• National Tech Certification (as applicable)
• State License verification (primary source online verification)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start (with specific rules for past positives)
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccines, or history of chickenpox)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

• 2 Professional References for Travel, Allied, or Per Diem Acute Care roles (within 3 years)
• 1 Professional Reference for Per Diem Non-Acute Care roles
