Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a travel/contract assignment in a Level I Trauma facility. The role involves working in a Pre-Screen Unit with clinical review and manager interview prior to placement.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • At least 1 year experience in Level II Trauma (Level I Trauma experience preferred)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Work Schedule

  • RTO (Return to Office): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekends: 3-4 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule (day, evening, or night shifts)
  • Holidays: Scheduled per department needs (day, evening, or night shifts)
  • Call: 2-3 calls within a 6-week schedule with a 30-minute callback response

Unit & Skills Requirements

  • Prefer RNs who can scrub and circulate
  • Must be proficient and function independently with the DaVinci Xi robotic system (bonus for familiarity with DaVinci DV5)
  • Proficient in robotic specialties: general, gynecology, thoracic, and urology
  • Must function independently in the following specialties:
    • Robotics
    • Orthopedics
    • General Surgery
    • Gynecology (GYN)
    • Urology
    • Bariatrics
    • ENT
    • Plastics
    • Vascular
    • Thoracic (excluding cardiac and open heart)
    • Trauma

Additional Information

  • May care for COVID-19 patients

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam - as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail) for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH Search required within 1 year prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Most recent resume/application
  • Annual skills checklist

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
