Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

36-bed unit with private rooms
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Patient ages range from young adult to geriatric
Focus on cardiac care including post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implants, and stable non-procedural cardiac patients
Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity

Schedule

Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse in telemetry or cardiac care
Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Required Certifications & Licenses

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
BLS (Basic Life Support) required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required as applicable
Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), CPI, NIH Stroke Certification
EPIC experience required

Required Qualifications & Compliance

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 2 years telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel assignment
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience working with adolescent and geriatric patients
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a cardiac-focused telemetry unit and meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements.
