Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dothan, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: ICU/CCU
• Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Night shifts (traveler preference)
• Scheduling: Block scheduling with every other weekend (EOW) required
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Radius Rule: No local candidates within 90 miles

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Must have Alabama RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of application
• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers are welcome)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License matching RN license name
• Social Security Card or last four digits confirmation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Physical exam updated annually
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or titers for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• Flu vaccination required for placements starting on or after September 15 (no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions require facility form and mask-wearing)
• COVID vaccine is voluntary
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam and core competency exams (Core Exams I-III preferred)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Facility-specific modules must be completed prior to orientation
• Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results (time sensitive, must be completed prior to orientation)

Additional Notes

• Candidate must live at least 90 miles from the facility
• No prior permanent employment at this facility within the last 10 years
• NIH Stroke Certification required (completed through facility after clearance; must be current and renewed annually)
• Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing (passport-style, no nose rings)
