Location: Torrance, California

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for Case Management in the Emergency Room (ER) department with experience in recent discharge planning and acute inpatient care.


Start Date & Shift

  • Start Date: February 2026
  • Shift: Variable start times at 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 8:30 AM

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient experience (highest required years of experience)
  • Experience in ER Department Case Management and recent discharge planning preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted

Schedule & Work Details

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: No floating within scope
  • Block schedule: Not accommodated
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
  • Maximum Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: 10 days
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all travelers
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for certain units (check unit specifics)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for Pediatrics and certain units
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for applicable units
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or EDAP – Preferred for ER RNs but not mandatory
  • NIH Stroke Certification – Required for ER, PCU, ICU, Tele units; must be updated annually
  • State RN License – Primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start; renewal plan needed if license expires during contract

Required Immunizations & Health Documents

  • Flu Vaccine: Mandatory, no declinations accepted for 2025-2026 season
  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria) vaccine or declination required
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months (or per facility guidelines for positive history)
  • Immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declinations)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or facility-specific declination form required
  • Drug Testing: Required within 1 year of start and updated annually (excluding Marijuana/THC panel starting 1/1/24)
  • Fit Mask test within 1 year of start (N95 masks specified)

Required Background & Documentation

  • Two supervisor/manager references within 1 year of start (one from current or most recent employer)
  • Current resume or application covering all cities and states lived/worked in past 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Background check including SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, DMV search for Home Health/Hospice RNs
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript as a placeholder if verification pending
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required after start
  • California Medi-Cal Search within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
