Medical Surgical Travel Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Dededo, Guam
• Acute care med surg assignment
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour day or night shifts
• Travelers are scheduled primarily on one shift and cannot request a shift preference

Required Qualifications

• Current Compact or Guam RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Passport in hand required
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• NIH Stroke Scale training certificate required for RNs
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Pass/Fail testing on drug calculations and BKAT during orientation
• Background check required before start
• Work history verification for the last 10 years
• 2 professional references within 3 years of start

Schedule Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• RTO limited to no more than 3 consecutive days and no more than 7 days total in the 13-week contract
• No RTO approved for June
• Overtime is not guaranteed and is at management discretion
• Candidate should be flexible to pick up additional shifts based on census
• Block scheduling is dependent on unit needs

Compliance and Onboarding

• Must complete facility modules before the compliance deadline
• Onsite testing includes drug calculations and BKAT
• Must complete fit testing before start
• TB clearance required before start
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccination is strongly preferred; declination is allowed if the facility waiver form is completed
• Physical exam is required within 1 year of start
• Emergency contact form required prior to start

Facility Notes

• Local candidates from Guam are not accepted
• Flights are not reimbursed
• Travelers should not book return flights until the contract is complete
• Candidates should plan to arrive by the Thursday before start at the latest
• Free parking is available
• Scrubs: Cath Lab/OR/PACU provided; all others may wear any solid color, with navy blue preferred
