Schedule

• 3x12 shifts, days or nights
• Every other weekend required
• May float as needed

Experience

• 2 years of labor and delivery experience with postpartum experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Sterile vaginal exam experience
• External fetal monitoring experience
• Internal fetal monitoring experience
• IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration experience
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin)
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia
• Post Partum experience

Additional Requirements

• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 100-mile radius
• No on-call requirement
• No block schedule accommodation

Assignment Details

• 13-week contract
• Average daily census: 8 deliveries per day; postpartum census: 15 per day
• Teaching hospital
• Level 2 trauma center
• 258 staffed beds

Pre-Start Items

• Criminal background check required
• Fingerprinting required
• DHS clearance required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Tdap required
• TB screening required
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, and respiratory safety clearance documentation required
• Drug testing required
• References required
• Skills checklist required annually
• Competency exam required
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
• Pre-orientation modules must be completed before start
