Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 11:00–23:30
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every third weekend

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Work Expectations

• May float to a free-standing 14-bed emergency room as needed
• Will not float mid-shift

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• Background check and related screenings must be completed within 30 days of start
• Education verification and diploma/transcript documentation are required
• 2 supervisory references are required
• Unit-specific skills checklist is required
• Employment history must cover 7 years with no gaps greater than 30 days
• Drug screen required within 30 days of start
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Fit test required within 12 months
• TB screening required within 90 days of start
• Tdap documentation required
• Proof of immunity or vaccination documentation required for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
• Mandatory reporter training/certification required
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption status required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination is preferred only
