- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 18:00–6:30
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 18 weeks
- Setting: Detention center
Schedule and assignment notes
- Block scheduling requests may be approved based on unit need
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 of 3 holiday bundles
- No locals within 100 miles
- RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Wound Care (1 year of experience)
- Wound Care experience within the last year
- Correctional experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- MOAB
Required certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- MOAB certification; if not already held, the facility provides the course during the first week
Clinical skills and competencies
- Phlebotomy
- Starting IVs
- High-flow nasal cannula
- Nasal cannula
- Non-invasive airway management
- Oral suctioning
- Oxygen face masks
- Portable oxygen tank
- Isolation precautions
Compliance and onboarding
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation
- Background release authorization must be completed within 48 hours of signing
- PREA training must be completed before start
- Welcome PowerPoint acknowledgement required before start
- Cerner training attestation may be completed if the candidate has Cerner experience; otherwise the candidate is enrolled in training
- Physical exam required within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask required within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire required annually
- Flu vaccination or documentation required year-round before start
- COVID vaccination is not required
Additional notes
- Smoke-free facility with no designated smoking areas, including the parking lot
- Parking is free
- First-timers accepted, with prior experience preferred
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
- 36/48-hour contracts are used
- OT applies after 48 hours on contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025
