Physical Therapist (PT) - Temp, Outpatient

Location: Tawas City, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides.
• Perform patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following physical therapy standards, physician orders, and policies.
• Evaluate patient function using formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans as part of the authorized plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
• Coordinate treatment schedules with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff.
• Educate patients and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives including rest, exercise, and modalities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Physical Therapist License (LARA)
• Physical Therapy experience (minimum 2 years)
• Outpatient experience required; primarily outpatient setting with some acute care exposure
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Must provide:

  • Work history and skills checklist relevant to physical therapy (updated within 1 year)
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered)

• Facility is a 47-bed acute inpatient center with 24/7 emergency care, surgical services, imaging, and maternity center.
