Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health (Nights)
Location: Brattleboro, Vermont

Job Summary
- Float position requiring willingness to work across all units, including adolescents and adults.
- Provides complex nursing care using the nursing process in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic care delivery.
- Work within a Co-Occurring Disorders Inpatient Treatment Program offering 24-hour care focused on sobriety and managing co-occurring psychiatric conditions such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.
- Responsibilities include intervention, medically assisted withdrawal, stabilization, and patient education to support recovery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent inpatient psychiatric experience within the last 3 months (Long-term care experience not accepted).
- Psych/Behavioral Health experience with all age groups clearly listed on the resume.
- Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
- Active Vermont or Compact RN license.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Psych skills checklist from within the last year.
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment.
- Driver’s license or candidate’s address must be provided (candidates living within 35 miles of the facility will have a rate adjustment).
- Resume must clearly outline patient populations worked with.
- CPI training is offered onsite; confirm availability at submission.
- Scheduling requests must be included in the submission packet.
Additional Information
- Orientation: 8 hours nonbillable.
- RTO (Request Time Off) blackout dates apply; no RTO during the first 2 weeks of orientation and RTO cannot exceed 7 days total.
- Overtime is paid at the same rate as regular hours; holiday and callback shifts paid at 1.25x with a minimum of 2 hours for callback.
- Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shift cancellations per 13-week contract.
- First-time travelers are considered; prior travel experience is not required.
- The position is located in a rural area with limited housing and public transportation options; candidates should plan accordingly.
