Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

• Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Day shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Key Requirements and Credentials

Certifications & Licenses

• CST Certification (NBSTA or NCCT only) required for Massachusetts locations.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or NBSTSA CST) certification required.
• Professional license and/or certification must be verified within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration.
• MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted.

Health & Immunization

• Documentation of MMR vaccination (two measles, two mumps, one rubella) or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
• TB screening: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if there is a break >6 months.
• Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30); no exemptions allowed.
• Hepatitis B vaccine strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity or declination).
• Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years.
• If positive TB test, documentation of a negative chest x-ray is required.
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation required if fit testing is necessary.

Background & Compliance Checks

• Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start date, including international searches if applicable.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date.
• MGB National Sex Offender Check within 30 days prior to start date and updated annually.
• Exclusion Checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days prior to start date and annually.
• Social Security Number Trace covering past 7 years of addresses, employment, and education.
• Verification of highest level of education achieved.

Documentation & Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state details (required for submission).
• Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above) in the relevant skillset (required for submission).
• Skills checklist (required for submission).
• Candidate submission coversheet (required for submission).
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form required for all initial assignments and extensions.

Summary

This position requires a certified Central Sterile Technician with appropriate CST certification and compliance with Mass General Brigham’s health, immunization, and background screening policies. Candidates must be prepared to provide detailed documentation and meet strict credentialing and compliance standards prior to onboarding. The role offers day shifts at a well-regarded hospital within the Mass General Brigham system for a 12-month contract.
