Job Opportunity: RN Step Down

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW); Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Requires 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care
• Placement on unit with greatest need: PCU, Med/Surg, or Telemetry unit based on skills
• Accepts Med/Surg or Stepdown RN credentials (same credentialing for both)
• Must be willing to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current RN license (Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start)
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• NIH Certification (updated as required)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated yearly)
• Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types for WI and MI)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing prior to start and annually thereafter
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and meet compact license address requirements)

• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules)
• Ascension Epic Test-Out (training and test results)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification within one year, updated annually)
• Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
• Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender)
• Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary Party List System) check within 90 days of start
• Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years)
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead documentation)
• Ascension Profile and 2 Professional References (required for submission)
• Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no filters)

Additional Notes

• Floating to other units or nearby sites (within 40 miles) may be required based on staffing needs
• Must comply with all Ascension Health policies and credentialing requirements
