Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician

Location: Evansville, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Provide quality images for radiologists and physicians to interpret.
  • Shift start time varies between 7:00-8:00 AM, end time between 3:30-4:30 PM.

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • License: Current Nuclear Medicine Technician license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • BLS Certification: Must have American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification.
  • Driver’s License/State ID: Must be valid, not expired, and match address on file.

Required Health & Immunization Documentation

  • MMR: Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Varicella: Proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferably completed prior to start.

Required Onboarding & Compliance

  • Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, completed within a year and updated yearly.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually or after breaks in service.
  • Education Verification: Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start; must be rerun after breaks in service.
  • Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after breaks in service.
  • Ascension Profile & Resume: Required for submission.
  • Professional References: At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
  • Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation: Completion of 6 hours pre-hire education with signed attestation.
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
  • Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
