Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery (LDRP Nurse)

Location: Winchester, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
• Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Follow physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.

Required Credentials and Certifications

Licenses & Verification

• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Driver’s License/State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements).

Certifications (Must be current and valid)

• BLS (American Heart Association required)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics (optional but preferred)
• NRP Advanced (required)
• Ascension Fetal Monitoring (if not covered on competency exam, must have AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years)
• Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)

Exams and Competency Testing (Must be completed prior to start and maintained)

• Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)
• Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark, max 2 attempts)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty, updated annually)
• Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted).
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Recent testing required with annual TB questionnaire.
• Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire.
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start, can be completed onsite.
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.

Professional Requirements

• Resume/Profile submission required.
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually or after breaks in service.
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
• Employment Verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after breaks in service.
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation upon initial assignment and each extension.
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite).
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training).
• Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
