Job info

Provides rapid nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting for patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies.

Rapid and comprehensive patient assessment and triage
Monitoring vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in condition
Administering medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other ordered treatments
Initiating and maintaining IV access and obtaining blood specimens
Assisting with emergency procedures such as CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
Operating and monitoring emergency equipment
Recognizing patient deterioration and initiating interventions
Collaborating with the healthcare team
Caring for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
Educating patients and families
Maintaining documentation in the electronic health record
Following infection-control procedures, medication-safety practices, and hospital policies
Participating in emergency preparedness, quality-improvement initiatives, and continuing education
