Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Cooperstown, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Unit Overview

Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) unit with 4 LDR rooms, each featuring a private bath, shower, and spa tub
8 postpartum rooms equipped with refrigerators and fold-out couches
Operating rooms available for Caesarean births
Special care nursery on site
Average monthly deliveries: 80–90 (varies by month)
Team includes a mix of experienced RNs and new graduates gaining OB experience
Travelers play an essential role supporting patient care due to the number of new graduate RNs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification (AWHONN or equivalent)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Prior travel nursing experience preferred
OB/GYN nursing experience

Contract Details

Contract length: Approximately 13 weeks
Holiday coverage: Required to work every other holiday, similar to full-time staff; holiday requests are approved based on unit needs

Additional Information

Night shift RN travel contract openings may become available
Travelers are critical to maintaining unit staffing and supporting new graduate nurses
