Job Opportunity: Sleep Tech
Location: Salinas, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (90 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Perform technically high-quality polysomnography (PSG) testing following American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
- Conduct non-invasive PSG using 16 or more channels.
- Correctly place PSG monitors including EMG, EKG, EEG, Oximeter, nasal and oral thermistors, leg leads, upper airway sensor, respiratory belts, and other necessary monitors.
- Perform CPAP/Bi-Level titrations and administer oxygen under supervision of a registered tech (RPSGT or RCP).
- Chart all patient events, behaviors, and information accurately.
- Use hospital Meditech computer system.
- Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, minor repairs, cleaning, and disinfecting of equipment.
- Assist with stocking supplies, clerical duties, and responding to staff inquiries.
- Assist in training other Sleep Disorder Technicians and evaluating new lab equipment.
- Stay current on sleep literature and new technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Sleep Medicine Center or EEG.
- California State Polysomnographic Technologist license required.
- Registered through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) required.
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards required.
- Essential mental abilities include PSG and EEG knowledge, equipment mechanics, and computer skills.
- Minimum of 6–12 months Epic experience within the past year.
