OB Tech Position - Kentucky, Louisville
Job Summary
- Assist healthcare team during intra-operative period, focusing on vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Support setup of operating room, patient preparation and transport for surgery.
- Adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants.
- Hold retractors and assist with counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology, metric system, and aseptic technique in patient and family interactions.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Shift & Hours
- Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 12 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of OB Technician experience within the last year
- Completion of a Surgical Technology Program or Surgical Tech Apprentice Program
- BLS certification
- Operating room experience
- Surgical Technologist experience

Poor staffing, floating to other units sometimes all three shifts, little support from management. The AMN (Charge) is responsible for 59 patient rooms, which could be 118 patients. Resources are stretched too thin.
