Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer (AHA)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) (AHA)

Experience & Skills

• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Staffing ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients
• Experience with NIHSS, lumbar puncture assistance, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, lumbar drains
• Skilled in IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws
• Familiarity with various intravenous drips including cardiac, insulin, heparin, and cardiac monitoring
• Patient acuity comparable to ICU at smaller facilities

Patient Population

• Acute stroke management (ischemic, hemorrhagic, subarachnoid hemorrhage)
• Post neuro-surgical care (craniotomy, ventriculostomy, complex neuro-spine)
• Seizure management (epilepsy, post-ictal, pseudo-seizures)
• Multiple sclerosis and Guillain-Barre syndrome patients

Additional Information

• Use of EPIC electronic health record system
• 80-mile radius travel rule applies
• Relias exams required to pass upon booking (max 2 attempts)
• No blocked scheduling
• All requested time off (RTO) must be approved prior to assignment confirmation
