Registered Nurse - PCU (Telemetry)

Location: Greenville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 32-bed stepdown (PCU) unit primarily for medicine patients requiring stepdown level of care.
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• Common skills required:

  • Central line management
  • Respiratory management including tracheotomy care
  • IV starts and peripheral lab draws
  • Arterial blood draws
  • Management of various intravenous drips (e.g., cardiac, insulin, heparin)
• Must be able to perform tracheostomy care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Ability to perform tracheostomy care

• This position requires working night shifts (12-hour).
• The unit focuses on patients needing stepdown level care with telemetry monitoring.
