Registered Nurse - OR

Location: Mitchell, South Dakota
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour day shift, Monday to Friday (AM shift)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room (OR) with a focus on multiple surgical specialties.
• Surgical cases include:

  • Orthopedics: total joint replacements (knee, hips, shoulders) using Zimmer implants.
  • General Surgery: laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colon resection, and GI scopes (EGD, colonoscopies).
  • ENT: ear tube placements, tonsillectomies & adenoidectomies (T&As), and simple sinus surgeries.
  • Urology: stent placements, stone removals, cryotherapy, nephrectomies.
  • Obstetrics: laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomies (LAVHs), total abdominal hysterectomies (TAHs), hysteroscopies, dilation & curettage (D&Cs), and cesarean sections (C-section experience preferred).
  • Robotics: general and gynecological robotic-assisted surgeries.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Dakota
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Comfortable with orthopedic total joint replacements (knee, hips, and shoulders)
• Experience with laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and colon resection
• Experience with GI scopes (EGD and colonoscopies)
• Experience with ear tube placements, tonsillectomies & adenoidectomies (T&As), and simple sinus surgeries
• Experience with stent placements and stone removals

• Candidates should be comfortable with a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
