Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Cardiology/Medsurge)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Cardiology / Medsurg
  • Shift: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: First to float
  • Number of Openings: 1

Unit Information

  • Unit: 2 West
  • Number of Beds: 30
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6
  • Equipment: Standard Acute Care equipment
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Type of Patients:
    • Pre and Post-Heart Cath
    • Medsurg
    • General Cardiology (Chest Pain, Hypertension, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Alabama
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, with Med Surg experience within the last year
  • BLS certification

Work Environment & Culture

  • Personality Fit: Flexible, open to correction, friendly to staff and patients, dependable
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Additional Notes

  • No prior travel experience required
  • Call is not required for this position
  • The unit requires floating as needed, with this role being the first to float
