Travel RN Opportunity – Inpatient Rehab Unit

Location: Salem, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Inpatient Rehab
• Number of Beds: 35
• Patient Ratios: 5-7 patients per nurse
• Staffing: 2-4 techs per census, unit secretaries available
• Equipment: Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Bladder scanner
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required
• Floating Policy: May float to other Medical-Surgical departments

Job Requirements & Preferences

• Must Have:

  • Rehab experience
  • BLS certification
  • Virginia RN license
• Preferred:

  • Medical-Surgical experience
• Advanced Skills Needed: None

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Medication administration including IVs, PICC lines, PEG tube administration
• Bladder scans
• Tracheostomy care
• Tube feeding
• Foley catheter care and bladder irrigation
• Blood administration

Work Environment & Culture

• Dress code: Navy blue or white solid scrubs
• Collaborative multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Focus on patient functional improvements and achieving goals for functional independence

Certifications & Licenses Required

• BLS certification
• Registered Nurse License (Virginia)
