Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the infusion/consulting department, including initiating IVs via central or peripheral access, administering blood transfusions and drug infusions as ordered. Prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs, communicate patient status changes to practitioners, and ensure patient safety and quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including pain assessment and interdisciplinary screenings.
• Administer medications and manage antineoplastic agents following safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up instructions.
• Assist practitioners with procedures and coordinate interdisciplinary care.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of infusion experience, with infusion experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification
