Active ACLS
Active NIH
Active CA License
2 full years of ICU experience

Assignment Details

Location: Glendale, California
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Unit: ICU/CCU
Unit size: 12-bed CCU or 12-bed ICU
Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
Holidays: worked in rotation with permanent staff
Scrub color: Navy
Floating: ICU, CCU, and possibly tele; may also float to ER if willing and trained
Orientation: 2-3 shifts on unit; 1 shift on tele if needed; 3 shifts in ER if floating there
Charge nurse: yes, no patient assignment
Nurse aides: no
Tele/monitor techs: GE; RNs read and interpret strips
Drips: cardiozem, diprovan, amio, dopamine, dobutamine, fentanyl, versed
Vents: yes
Hospitalist or intensivist in house: no
IV team: no
RT 24/7: yes
Pharmacy 24/7: yes

Preferred

EKG dysrhythmia course (advanced)

Patient Population

ICU: sepsis, CHF, COPD, vented, no CRRT
CCU: balloon pumps, post cath, open heart, lobectomies, thrombectomies that have gone bad, spinals
Travelers cannot take any open heart or balloon pumps
